East Asia
I consider myself a lifelong student of China and East Asia. Admittedly, I am not an expert on this region but have long been fascinated with it since my first visit to Beijing in March 1988. To this end, I continue to study, participate in workshops and conferences through the Asian Studies Development Program at the East-West Center, and now, work on research for future publication.
I was also a 2010 Fulbright recipient in South Korea, which expanded my insight and curiosity beyond China.
In 2024, I co-founded he Korean Institute at Columbus State (KICS) with Dr. Dae Woo Lee. KICS promotes a deep understanding of Korean studies through innovative academic programs, noteworthy cultural exchanges, and extensive community engagement. The institute seeks to enhance Columbus State students' professional prospects by fostering connections within the Georgia-South Korea economic partnership, with a strong emphasis on cultural exchange.
